Men's Tennis Concludes Regular Season at No. 10 Duke

RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State men's tennis team will conclude the regular season portion of its schedule at No. 10 Duke, Sunday, April 21. The match is slated to begin at 1 p.m. at the Ambler Tennis Stadium.
The Wolfpack (13-8, 6-3 ACC) defeated the Boston College Eagles, 7-0, its last time out. State won eight of the nine matches contested, winning all six singles matches, and did not drop a set.
Senior Dave Thomson and junior Sean Weber have formed the Pack's top-ranked doubles duo, owning a record of 19-8 on the season, including a 13-5 mark in dual matches. The tandem is also ranked 12th in the nation in the latest ITA poll.
The Pack is 11-2 on the season when winning the doubles point.
In singles play, sophomore Austin Powell headlines the group with 21 victories, spanning from fall play. In dual matches, Powell is tied for the team lead along with sophomore Beck Bond and freshman Thomas Weigel with 12 wins apiece.
The 10th-ranked Duke Blue Devils defeated the Miami Hurricanes, 7-0, in their last outing. The Devils are 19-4 overall and 7-1 in the ACC. Senior Henrique Cunha, ranked fifth in the ITA singles poll, leads the squad with a 27-3 record on the season and a 7-0 mark against ACC opponents.
Last season the Pack dropped a narrow 4-3 decision to the Blue Devils in Raleigh. State lost the doubles point, but roared back to win three singles matches before coming up short in the deciding match.
