Pack Men's Tennis Earns No. 4 Seed for ACC Championship

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The NC State men's tennis team has earned the fourth seed for the 2013 ACC Championship and a first-round bye as announced by the conference Sunday. The tournament will be held at the Cary (N.C.) Tennis Park from April 25-28.
The Wolfpack (13-9, 6-4 ACC) finished in a three-way-tie for fourth place, along with Clemson and Virginia Tech, who also had records of 6-4, but gained the advantage over the other teams after various tiebreakers were exhausted.
State will take the courts on Friday, April 26 at 9 a.m. against the fifth-seeded Clemson Tigers. The winner will advance to the semifinals to face the winner of Friday's matchup between top-ranked Virginia and the winner of UNC and Miami's first-round contest.
The Pack defeated Clemson in the first meeting of the season, taking a 4-2 decision in Clemson, S.C. State won the doubles point and claimed three wins in singles play.
Last season, NC State earned the sixth seed and faced Boston College in the opening round, defeating the Eagles, 4-0. The Wolfpack lost to third-seeded Duke in the quarterfinals.
