Weber Advances to Main Draw of Futures Tournament

JOPLIN, Mo. - Sean Weber collected three consecutive victories in the qualifying draw of the USA F19 Futures Tournament to earn a spot in the main draw of 32. Weber claimed one of only eight spots available for players to earn a bid to the main draw.
In his first round matchup, he defeated Jake Norman (USA), 6-1, 6-3, and topped Evan Nix (USA), 6-3, 6-2 in the second round of the qualifying draw. Weber defeated Quentin Monaghan (USA) in the third round, 6-3, 0-6, 6-4 to solidify a spot in the main draw.
Weber won the first set of his match against Roberto Maytin (VEN) in the main draw, 6-3, but dropped the second set, 7-5, to force a decisive third set. In the third frame, Weber battled to force the set into a tiebreaker before falling, 7-6 (1).
Robbie Mudge also participated in the qualifying draw of the tournament and claimed a first round win against Zachary Northey, but came up short versus Monaghan in the second round.
