Men's Tennis Opens Fall Schedule

RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State men’s tennis team will open its fall tournament schedule on Friday by competing in the 2012 Duke Fab Four Invitational at the Cary (N.C.) Tennis Park.
The Wolfpack will be joined in the tournament by 10 other teams at the three-day tournament.
In singles competition, Thomson will play Jordan Kaufman (Elon), Weber will play Daniil Proskura (Alabama), Ivan Sanchez Gomez will play Aaron Chaffee (William and Mary) and Austin Powell will face Anthony Rossi (Kentucky), with all of the matches set to begin at 1 p.m.
"Its a good tournament because the top players from each school are usually playing in it," said head coach Jon Choboy on starting the season at the Duke Fab Four Invitational. "It's a real good opportunity for guys that have been working real hard to see where they are, so i'm excited to get out there and see what happens."
The tournament features three brackets in singles play, with Powell competing in the white, Sanchez Gomez and Weber in the black, and Thomson in the blue bracket.
The opening round in each bracket will be played on Friday at 1 p.m. The quarterfinals and semifinals will be played on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., respectively, and the finals will be held on Sunday at 9 a.m.
Other schools participating in the tournament include host Duke, Alabama, Elon, Kentucky, Louisville, North Carolina, Radford, South Carolina, VCU, Virginia Tech and William & Mary.
