Design Unfolds for New Tennis Complex
Raleigh, N.C. - The NC State men’s and women’s tennis teams will have a newly renovated home for the 2011 spring season. Located on West Campus across from Doak Field at Dail Park, the refurbished J.W. Isenhour Center will be one of the premiere tennis complexes in the country.
A new era of Wolfpack tennis began when the state-of-the-art J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center was completed in 2004. The ongoing renovations with the outdoor facilities will put the tennis complex on par with any program across the country.
A new plaza will be constructed for fans to enter the complex. Previously spectators would watch the Wolfpack from bleachers on the hill. The new complex will be much more fan friendly, with a beautiful grandstand seating area on the opposite side. New outdoor courts will be constructed to make room for the new seating. The court lighting will also be updated, along with a new scoreboard being installed.
Although the design has not been finalized, the preliminary plans have been approved. The final design should be complete some time in January of 2010. Construction is set to begin in May of 2010 once the tennis season ends.
