    Beasley, Kelly Join Wrestling Staff

Frank Beasley and Jamill Kelly have officially joined the wrestling program as assistant coaches

Frank Beasley joined the NC State wrestling program for the 2012-13 season after serving as an assistant on Pat Popolizio's staff at Binghamton for one year. Beasley is an assistant coach and the recruiting coordinator at NC State, bringing in the fourth ranked recruiting class in the country this past year. In addition to recruiting, he coached three wrestlers who qualified for the NCAA Championships. While he worked with the entire team, his primary training focus was the middle and upper weights.

Beasley has worked with Pack's 285 starter Nick Gwiazdowski who redshirted the 2013 season but went 24-1 in competitions, and took third at the World Team Trials, third at University Nationals, and seventh at the U.S. Senior Open. He also beat two-time defending NCAA Champion Tony Nelson twice 9-0 and 6-4 during the year.

He previously served as an assistant on Pat Popolizio's staff at Binghamton for one season. In his year at Binghamton he served as head assistant coach and recruiting coordinator.

During the 2011-12 season at Binghamton, Beasley helped the squad to a 14th place finish at the 2012 NCAA Championships. Five wrestlers qualified for the national championships, and all five finished in the top sixteen with two All-Americans. Academically, Binghamton had over a 3.0 team GPA, ranking as one of the best in the school and the best in program history and had two Academic All-Americans.

Prior to his time at Binghamton, Beasley was the head assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the University at Buffalo, helping steer that program to its finest three-year span in team history. The Bulls sent 14 wrestlers to the NCAA Championship over Beasley's tenure and have crowned five individual conference champions.

In his final season at Buffalo, Beasley spearheaded a squad that produced six NCAA qualifiers, eight nationally-ranked wrestlers, four Mid-American Conference (MAC) champions including the Most Outstanding Wrestler and multiple team wins over top-25 programs. Simultaneously, his academic commitment resulted in five individuals earning NWCA All-Academic honors.

Before Buffalo, Beasley was an assistant coach at Bloomsburg for two seasons, helping that program produce its first All-American in more than a decade and adding another All-American and nine national qualifiers in all. In addition, the Huskies won 12 duals in 2006-07 - the most wins in 16 seasons.

He enjoyed an elite wrestling career at Lincoln College and Bloomsburg, earning NJCAA All-America honors at Lincoln in 2004 (165 lbs.) and was a starter and team captain at Bloomsburg, finishing fourth at the 2006 Eastern Wrestling League Championship. Beasley accumulated almost 90 collegiate wins at 157, 165 and 174 pounds with nearly half coming by pin.

His multitude of academic achievements included becoming a two-time Academic All-American, four-year National Dean's List honoree and recipient of education and English department honors at Bloomsburg. Beasley earned a dual degree in English and education from Bloomsburg in 2006, graduating Cum Laude. He then received his master's degree in curriculum and instruction from Bloomsburg with a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Beasley was also the head coach of the NWCA All-American Team in 2009 and 2010. In 2009, he took the team to South Korea, with one wrestler beating a 2008 Olympian. In 2010, he took the team to Russia, where the team went undefeated in dual meets and produced some individual wins over world medalists. In addition, Beasley has conducted camps and clinics all over the country.

Beasley is married to the former Lyndsey Snyder, who is also employed at NC State and is the Investment Accountant in the Foundations Accounting & Investments department.
