    Wrestling to Compete in Four Duals This Weekend

    RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State wrestling team will have a busy weekend of action, as the Wolfpack travels to Pittsburgh, Pa., to compete in four separate duals. On Saturday night, the Pack will open ACC action against No. 12 Pittsburgh Panthers.

    Pittsburgh enters its first year in the ACC as the conference's highest ranked team. In their ACC opener, the Panthers downed Maryland, 21-12, on Dec. 6, and currently sit at 4-1 on the season overall.

    NC State will then turn around and compete in the Pitt Duals on Sunday, taking on Clarion (4-6) at noon, Eastern Michigan (7-1) at 2 p.m. and Seton Hill (2-3) at 4 p.m.

    The Pack is off to a 7-1 mark in dual action this year. Of the 70 individual matches the Pack has wrestled in, NC State has won 61. In dual action thus far, NC State has outscored the opposition 246-69, with a lone loss to #7 Illinois, 26-15.

    The Pack's Nick Gwiazdowski continues to be one of the top ranked wrestlers at 285 pounds this season, as he is fifth nationally. Pittsburgh features a trio of ranked grapplers: Shelton Mack is 17th at 133 pounds, Tyler Wilps is seventh at 174 pounds, and Nick Bonaccorsi is 19th at 197 pounds. Clarion has two ranked wrestlers: Justin Arthur is 18th at 149 pounds and Austin Matthews is 17th at 157 pounds.

    or Fr. Brenden Calas (7-5) - Has gone 1-1 in duals, including a pin.

    133: Fr. Chris Wilkes (11-4) - Has won seven of eight duals this year.

    141: So. Sam Speno (14-3) - Leads Pack with a perfect 8-0 record in duals.

    149: Fr. Brian Hamann (14-5) - 3-2 against ranked foes this year.
    or R-Fr. Cohl Fulk (1-5) - 0-1 in duals this year.

    157: Jr. Tommy Gantt (19-6) - 5-1 in duals, second on Pack with 19 wins.
    or Fr. Max Rohskopf (7-7) - Perfect 2-0 record at 157 pounds this year.

    165: Sr. Nijel Jones (10-3) - 5-1 in duals this year, was previously ranked.

    174: Fr. Pete Renda (15-5) - Perfect 7-0 in duals this year.

    184: Fr. Michael Macchiavello (7-6) - Went 3-2 at Southern Scuffle.
    or Fr. Shayne Brady (11-6) - 3-1 in duals this year.

    197: R-Sr. KaRonne Jones (7-4) - Has won last two duals, both my major decision.

    285: R-So. #5 Nick Gwiazdowski (22-2) - Placed 2nd at Southern scuffle.
