RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State wrestling team returns to ACC action this weekend, as the Wolfpack travels to Virginia for a dual meet on Sunday at 1 p.m.
After starting out the season 3-0 in dual meets, the Pack dropped a pair last weekend to American and No. 9 Virginia Tech.
Only three of the 10 wrestlers in the Pack's probable starting lineup were members of the squad last season. A pair of freshmen has led the way in the five dual meets, as Sam Speno (4-1) at 133 pounds and Tyler Hunt (5-0) at 141 pounds have recorded the most wins thus far.
Virginia enters the dual ranked No. 11 this week, with an 11-3 overall record including a 2-1 mark in ACC meets. The Cavs fell at Virginia Tech (25-6), then defeated both North Carolina (24-9) and Duke (38-0) last weekend.
NC State's Nijel Jones is ranked No. 20 this week at 165 pounds. The Cavs have six wrestlers ranked in the top-20 nationally: at 125, 133, 149, 157, 165 and 174 pounds.
