NC State Wrestling Zings Campbell 41-4 in Season Opener

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - With wins in nine matches overall, including three wins by pins, NC State got the 2004-05 wrestling season off to a blistering start with a 41-4 cakewalk over Campbell in the season opener for both teams.
Sophomores Zach Garren at 197 pounds and Jainor Palma at heavyweight joined freshman 157-pounder Kody Hamrah in getting pins for NC State, which defeated the Camels for the 12th time in as many meetings. The Pack also got major decisions from freshman 141-pounder Travis Varner and junior 149-pounder Chris DeLuca, and redshirt-sophomore 125-pounder Garrett Cummings won by forfeit
Lantz Nixon picked up Campbell's only win of the night with a major decision decision over freshman Jeremy Colbert at 184.
The Wolfpack will return to action on Friday night at 7 p.m. at fourth-ranked Lehigh.
