RALEIGH, N.C. — After signing a deep and talented recruiting class a year ago, NC State wrestling coach Carter Jordan did not need big numbers in this year’s class. Instead, he chose quality over quantity in signing a strong four-man class to national letters of intent.
Brandon Jorge of Lake Gibson, Fla.; Eric O’Neill of Winter Springs, Fla.; Jake Goodwin of Dallas, Texas; and Mike Kosoy of Boca Raton, Fla.; all signed with the Wolfpack during the November signing period. Each brings strong credentials, both on the mat and in the classroom.
“We’re ecstatic to sign these four young men to join our program next fall,” Jordan said. “We feel like we hit the trifecta with these four. They’re all outstanding people, outstanding wrestlers and outstanding students.”
Jordan’s four signees have combined to win six state championships and earn numerous high school All-America honors. All four are honor students at their respective high schools.
“I have to give credit to our assistant coaches, Lee Pritts and Steve Anceravage,” Jordan said. “They went out of their way to look for outstanding wrestlers who were good student-athletes and good citizens at their schools. They certainly found that with these four. These four guys, they're all great students, and they’re all student leaders in their high schools. We value character highly in this program and at this university, and it will be a pleasure to coach these four and to have them represent NC State University.”
