RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State student-athletes were granted the opportunity to meet with members of the AfterSport Group earlier today. The AfterSport Group is a program geared towards preparing student-athletes for successful performance beyond the arena by providing them with career development services.
The first campus presentation, which took place in the Weisiger-Brown building, was geared towards preparing for life after college athletics. For underclassmen, this included finding internships to gain work experience, and for seniors it dealt with looking for jobs.
Student-athletes participated in interactive activities throughout the workshop. One activity had each person talk to someone on a team other than their own in order to branch out from their comfort zone and make connections.
Throughout the year, the AfterSport Group will be providing on-campus workshops, individual meetings and online services to NC State student-athletes.
