Visiting Team Guide - Wrestling
Dear Wrestling Athletic Trainer,
The NCSU Sports Medicine Staff would like to welcome you and your team to Raleigh and to North Carolina State University. We hope to make your stay at N.C. State as pleasant and safe as possible.
Matches will be held at Reynolds Coliseum. The athletic training room is located on the bottom floor of the facility and will be available for your use. It is equipped with electrical muscular stimulation, ultrasound, hydrocollator units, and whirlpools. This training room will be open as soon as weigh-ins are over and will remain open until the matches are over. Should you need to use the athletic training room prior to this please contact us so that we can make the necessary arrangements.
Skin checks/Weigh-Ins will be held one hour before the match in Rooms 122 & 123 of Reynolds Coliseum. Should a problem arise a physician will be on call. In addition, I would like you to keep in mind NCAA Rule 3, Section 9: "If a team official suspects a student-athlete of having such a condition, and consults a physician (ideally a dermatologist) who determines that it is safe for that individual and his opponent to compete, that contestant's coach shall provide current written documentation from that physician to the examining physician or athletic trainer at the medical examination describing: 1) the diagnosed skin disease or condition; 2) the prescribed treatment and the time necessary for it to take effect; and 3) that the skin disease or condition would not be communicable or harmful to the opponent at the time of competition. Such documentation shall be furnished at the medical examination."
During each match, you will have one 10-gallon cooler of water, one 5-gallon cooler of ice, OSHA supplies, towels, and a spit bucket. Also, our Orthopaedic Consultant will be at the match should you need his assistance.
If your team is planning on traveling without a certified athletic trainer, please contact us so that we may make the necessary arrangements.
