    Procedure for Sickle Cell Testing for Walk

    In order to walk on to a varsity sports team at North Carolina State University, you must contact the coach of that team. After meeting with the coach and with the Athletics Compliance Office, you must complete the medical forms from the Sports Medicine Office.

    Also, the NCAA mandates that anyone trying out for a NCAA team know their sickle cell trait status.  The form above provides information regarding testing at Student Health Services.  Per NCAA rules, no one is allowed to try out without a sickle cell trait test result on file with the Sports Medicine Office.
