RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State's defensive pressure forced 20 turnovers on Saturday afternoon as the Wolfpack ran past Presbyterian, 76-30, in a contest played at Reynolds Coliseum.

"I'm really pleased with our play and energy on the court today," said head coach Kellie Harper. "Our players had a lot of energy from the tip-off until the end of the game and I thought that was 40 minutes of good intensity from the team."

Junior forward Kody Burke led a balanced scoring attack for the Wolfpack with 13 points, followed closely by senior guard Marissa Kastanek with 12.  Myisha Goodwin-Coleman chipped in 10 points, while Len'Nique Brown and Breezy Williams each had eight.

The Wolfpack jumped out to an early 4-0 lead to start the game and never relinquished it, as Presbyterian never led throughout the contest.

NC State's defense was superb throughout the day as 14 of the team's 20 turnovers came during the opening period of play.  The Wolfpack held the Blue Hose to a season-low 30 points.

The Pack led 45-13 at the half, after connecting on 20-of-40 (.500) shots from the floor. State closed out the first half on a 21-4 run, spanning from the 7:48 mark in the half. Presbyterian finished the first half 5-of-20 (.250) from the field.

State out-rebounded Presbyterian, 51-21, with 21 of those boards coming on the offensive end of the floor, leading to 23 second chance points. In contrast, the Pack held the Blue Hose to just five offensive boards and two second chance points.

"One of the areas that we worked on the most throughout the week was boxing out," Harper said. "We only gave up five offensive rebounds and only turned the ball over 10 times so those were two huge stats."

The Wolfpack's largest lead of the day was 50 at the 4:31 mark in the second half, after an 8-0 run by the Pack capped off by baskets from Markeisha Gatling and Williams.

NC State ended the game shooting 32-of-69 (.464) from the floor, while Presbyterian was 12-of-43 (.279) from the field. The Wolfpack turned the ball over a season-low 10 times in the contest.

Dria David led Presbyterian in scoring with seven points.

The squad will return to action with its ACC opener on the road at No. 21 Miami. The game is slated to begin at 7 p.m. on Dec. 20 in Coral Gables, Fla.
