NC State WBB Improves to No. 14 in Latest AP Poll

RALEIGH, N.C. – For the fifth straight week, the NC State women’s basketball team (19-3, 6-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) remains among the top 25 teams in the country. In the latest edition of the Associated Press top-25 poll, NC State was ranked No. 14 in the country with 436 points on Monday.
Monday’s ranking marks the 331st week in program history during which the team has been ranked in the AP poll. It also marks the program’s best ranking in the AP poll since December of 2001, when the team was ranked No. 10.
The Wolfpack picked up its 12th home win of the season on Thursday night, defeating then No. 8 Maryland by a final score of 72-63. State ended the final 12:21 of the game on a 28-10 run to claim the victory.
NC State will next be in action at home on Thursday, Feb. 6 vs. Wake Forest. The Wolfpack and Demon Deacons will tip off from Reynolds Coliseum beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday’s contest will be televised on the following regional networks across the country.
