The 2014 ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament will be played in Greensboro from Wednesday, Mar. 5 to Sunday, Mar. 9. With an 11-4 record in Atlantic Coast Conference games, NC State has ensured that it will receive a bye into the quarterfinal round (games played Friday, March 7) of the tournament.
THE ELITE 800 CLUB
With the win at Pittsburgh on Feb. 27, NC State became just the 29th women’s basketball program in NCAA Division I history to achieve 800 all-time wins.
NC State has only once lost when taking a lead into halftime during the 2013-14 season. The Wolfpack is a nearly perfect 19-1 in these games.
Part of State’s success this season has been a result of halftime adjustments made by head coach Wes Moore. In the time from the beginning of the second half to the first media stoppage of the same stanza, the Pack is outscoring its opponents 263-187.
As of games played Feb. 27, NC State’s RPI checked in at 17th in the country. Nine of NC State’s wins have come against teams ranked in the top 100.
