GREENSBORO, N.C. – The NC State women’s basketball team learned its opponent for the 2014 ACC/B1G Challenge this afternoon, as the Atlantic Coast Conference released dates and pairings for the upcoming season’s edition of the competition.

On Wednesday, Dec. 3, the Wolfpack will host Minnesota inside Reynolds Coliseum. The tip-off time is to be determined.

NC State and Minnesota have only met four times in program history. The Wolfpack holds a 3-1 advantage in the all-time series with the Golden Gophers and is 1-0 against them inside the friendly confines of Reynolds Coliseum.

Minnesota enjoyed a strong 2013-14 season, posting an overall record of 22-13 which included an 8-8 mark in league play. The Golden Gophers won two games in the 2014 Women’s National Invitational Tournament (WNIT) before seeing their season come to an end in the third round of the competition at South Dakota State.

Minnesota returns 2013-14 WBCA All-American honorable mentions Amanda Zahui B. (15.1 points and 11.6 rebounds per game) and Rachel Banham (22.1 points per game).

During the 2013 edition of the ACC/B1G Challenge, the Wolfpack won the decisive contest for its conference, dominating Northwestern on the road by a final score of 76-61 to give the ACC a 7-5 victory in the competition.

In addition to hosting Minnesota, NC State will welcome conference foes North Carolina, Duke, Notre Dame, Wake Forest, Clemson, Miami, Pittsburgh, and Virginia Tech to Reynolds Coliseum during the 2014-15 season.

The entirety of the Wolfpack’s nonconference schedule will be released this summer.
