RALEIGH – With the 2014-15 season just a few months away, the NC State women’s basketball team has released a portion of its nonconference schedule. Second year head coach Wes Moore and his team will be traveling to tropical Grand Bahama Island to compete in the 2014 Junkanoo Jam from Nov. 27-29.
The tournament will be split into two groups, with NC State scheduled to compete in the Freeport division with George Washington, Texas Tech, and Purdue. NC State will open play against George Washington on Friday, Nov. 28 at 1 p.m. (ET). One day later at either 1 p.m. or 3:15 p.m., the Wolfpack will play the winner or loser of the Texas Tech – Purdue matchup.
Earlier this month, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced the pairings for the 2014 ACC/B1G Challenge. The Wolfpack will host Minnesota at Reynolds Coliseum on Wednesday, Dec. 3.
The rest of NC State’s nonconference schedule will be released this summer.

About the Junkanoo Jam
The Junkanoo Jam offers women’s college basketball teams a chance for excellent early season competition on the beaches of the Bahamas. Since the tournament’s inception in 2002, many of the nation’s finest women’s programs have converged on Grand Bahama Island to test their skills and enjoy some fun in the sun. The 2014 installment of the tournament marks the 12th annual event in Freeport.
