RALEIGH, N.C. – Fresh off a 2-1 mark at the 2013 Gulf Coast Showcase in Estero, Fla., which included an 18-point victory over UCLA, the NC State women’s basketball team travels to its first true road contest of the season. As a part of the 2013 ACC/Big Ten Challenge, the Wolfpack will play at Northwestern Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. EST.
Thursday’s game will be broadcast live on WKNC 88.1 FM. Patrick Kinas will have the call alongside color commentary from former Wolfpack player Rachel Stockdale. Fans can also listen to the broadcast through a subscription here.
Lakeesa Daniel was one of four Wolfpack student-athletes to shoot 50 percent or better from the field in NC State’s 18-point win over UCLA.

NC STATE - NORTHWESTERN SERIES HISTORY
Thursday’s game will mark the third all-time meeting between NC State and Northwestern. The all-time series is tied at one apiece and has its roots in the 1981-82 season.
JUDICIOUS IN POSSESSION
Junior point guard Len’Nique Brown has been very judicious in possession this season. Through the first nine games of the year, she has dished out a team high 36 assists while committing just 14 turnovers.
Through the first nine games of the 2013-14 season, NC State has nine student-athletes who are averaging at least 5.0 points per game. Four of them (Markeisha Gatling, Kody Burke, Len’Nique Brown, and Miah Spencer) are averaging 8.0 points or more each outing.
NC State has outrebounded its opponents in eight of nine games played during the 2013-14 season. The Wolfpack has collected a total of 343 rebounds compared to just 260 by its opposition.
NC State’s bench outscored its UCLA counterpart by a 23-0 margin Dec. 1. Factoring in the eight other games of the season, the Wolfpack bench has outscored opposing reserves by a 269-102 margin to begin 2013-14.
JUST ONE POINT
Junior guard Krystal Barrett enters the game at Northwestern with 499 career points. At 7.6 points scored per game in 2013-14, she is outpacing her career scoring average by 1.1 points per game.
TWENTY MINUTES OF DOMINANCE
NC State completely dominated the first half of its 18-point win over UCLA on Dec. 1. In the first 20 minutes of the game, the Wolfpack made as many field goals (15) as UCLA attempted, shot 15-25 (60 percent) from the field, and collected 14 rebounds compared to the Bruins’ nine. The Wolfpack nearly scored as many points off turnovers (17) as the Bruins did in total (20).
LEADING THE WAY
In seven of its eight wins this season, NC State has not trailed for a single second. In all eight, the Wolfpack has been behind for only 24 of a possible 19,200 seconds.
