    Women's Golf Finishes Sixth At Lady Puerto Rico Classic

    RIO GRANDE, P.R. – The NC State women’s golf team finished sixth at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic with three-day, 38 over-par 902 total. The Pack posted an 11-over 299 in Tuesday’s final round.

    The tournament was held at the par-72, 6,191-yard River Course at the Rio Mar Country Club.

    Sophomore Augusta James shot a 1-under 71 to move up seven spots to finish tied for fifth with a 2-over 218 for the tournament. James’ final round featured a tournament best four birdies. Fellow sophomore Vivian Tsui carded a 1-over 73 to tie for 25th, giving her a three-day tally of 11-over  227. Junior Ana Menendez posted a final-round 5-over 77, helping her to tie for 28th with a three-round total of 12-over 228.

    Junior Brittany Marchand and senior Amanda Baker tied for 50th with both posting event tallies of 17-over 233. Marchand shot a 7-over 79 on the last day, while Baker posted a 6-over 78.

    Junior Lindsay McGetrick, playing as an individual, also recorded a 6-over 78 for a three-day total of 15-over 231 to tie for 40th.

    Alabama captured the team crown with a 7-over 871, 13 strokes better than second place Arkansas (884).  The Razorbacks’ Emily Tubert took home top individual honors with a 3-under 213 for the tournament.

    NC State returns to action Feb. 25-26, at the Sir Pizza Tournament at Shula's Golf Course in Miami Lakes, Fla.
