NC State Holds Sixth Through Two Rounds

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The NC State women's golf team was sixth after the first round Saturday and maintained its ground through 36 holes at the Lady Boilermaker, hosted by Purdue. The Wolfpack's Briana Vega is tied for eighth through two rounds after firing rounds of 75 and 76 to lead the team.
Tennessee leads the field with a two-round score of 605, and Lady Vol Jessica Shepley shares the top spot on the leaderboard with Kristy McPherson, a member of the South Carolina team who is playing as an individual.
Courtney Pomeranz shot consecutive rounds of 79 to take a share of 31st. Erica Wein, who has played strong in the late spring, shot rounds of 82 and 80 to finish the day in 42nd. Cobb's 83 did not score in the first round. Sarah Bonner had rounds of 84 and 80 and didn't contribute towards the team's scoring in either round. Leslie Stubblefield was strong during the first round with a score of 77 and carried a share of 22nd into the second round. She dropped to 63rd after a second round score of 91.
The Wolfpack will look for a third-round surge on Sunday when the team takes to the par-72, 5,900 yard Kampen Course at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex.
