Women's Golf Tied For Fourth At Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational

Second_Round_Results CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The NC State women's golf team shot a 7-over par, 295, on Saturday to move into a tie for fourth place with Virginia at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational with a two-day total of 19-over par, 595. Junior Ana Menendez and sophomore Lindsay McGetrick led the 17th-ranked Wolfpack's charge with a pair of one-over par, 73s. Menendez's round was highlighted by a hole-in-one at the par-3 14th hole on which she hit a hybrid club a 168 yards with the ball landing within inches of the cup with it rolling in for the ace. Senior Amanda Baker posted a 2-over par, 74, while junior Brittany Marchand carded at 3-over par, 75, and sophomore Augusta James finished the day at nine-over, 81. Baker is still NC State's top player on the leaderboard heading into the final day of competition, tied for 16th with a 3-over par, 147. Menendez and McGetrick are now tied for 24th at 5-over par, 149. Marchand is tied for 31st at 6-over par, 150. James rounds out the State contingent at tied for 80th at 15-over par, 159. "I'm proud of the team's determination today," said head coach Page Marsh. "They kept themselves relaxed and went into grind mode when they need to score."
