Gwyn leads trio of Pack Women's Golfers at Harder Hall
SEBRING, Fla. – Three NC State women’s golfers are competing in the 52nd Harder Hall Women's Invitational Golf Tournament at the par-72, 6,151-yard Harder Hall Country Club.
Cindel Gwyn fired a two-over 74 and stands eighth overall after round one of the tournament.
Lauren Doughtie is tied for 13th after a four-over 76, while Joanna Saleeby shot an 80 and is tied for 40th place.
Leah Wigger shot 3-under 69 take the first-round lead. Wigger, a two-time NCAA All-American for Virginia, had five birdies and two bogeys. England national team player Rachel Connor and Auburn's Candace Schepperle both shot 2-under 70.
Vanderbilt's Jacqui Concolino and Sally Watson, No. 22 in the Golfweek/Titleist Junior Rankings, are in fourth after 72s. Diane Lang, winner of the past two U.S. Senior Women's Amateurs, is tied for sixth at 1 over par.
The tournament is a 72-hole stroke play format with the low 40 players and ties at the end of 36 holes being in championship flight. The tournament is open to women amateur golfers and by invitation only.
