No. 17 Women's Golf To Play In The Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational

RALEIGH, N.C. – Fresh off its Sir Pizza Terrapin Challenge victory, the 17th-ranked NC State women’s golf team begins play in the Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational on Monday, March 4. The two-day, 54-hole event will be held at the par 72, 6,180-yard Almaden Golf & Country Club in San Jose, Calif. In addition to the Wolfpack, there are three other squads ranked in the Golfstat Top 20 - No. 9 Washington, No. 13 UC Davis and No. 14 Stanford – participating in this year’s 14-team tournament. The event’s four-time defending team champion, California, is also scheduled to compete. The Pack won the Terrapin Challenge team and individual titles last week at the par-72, 6,278-yard Shula's Golf Club in Miami Lakes, Fla. NC State posted a 10-over, 874 in the victory and placed three golfers in the top 10. Junior Brittany Marchand finished second with a 3-under, 213 and sophomore Augusta James was a stroke back at 2-under, 214. Junior Ana Menendez carded a final round 69 to tie for sixth place with a 6-under, 222. Sophomore Lindsay McGetrick, competing as an individual, was the event winner with a career-best 4-under, 212. Monday’s Spartan Invitational first round begins with a shotgun start at 8:15 a.m. Live scoring results will be available at www.golfstat.com.
