Wolfpack Earns At-Large Bid into the NCAA East Regional

INDIANAPOLIS – The NC State women’s golf team earned an at-large bid to the NCAA East Regional, as announced Monday evening on The Golf Channel. The regional will take place May 8-10 at the SouthWood Golf Club in Tallahassee, Fla., and will be hosted by Florida State.
“We’re excited to be going to the East Regional,” said head coach Page Marsh. “It’s the closest regional site for us to travel to and we’re looking forward to the trip.”
The Pack was named the No. 9 seed in the field that includes three ACC schools among the 24 teams in the regional. Other ACC schools competing in the East Regional include Duke, Virginia and Florida State.
The Wolfpack makes its 12th appearance in an NCAA Regional with all 12 coming in the past 13 years. The top eight teams and top two individuals from the regional will advance to the 2014 NCAA Championship scheduled to be played May 20-23 at Tulsa Country Club in Tulsa, Okla.
A Fred Couples designed golf course, SouthWood Golf Club plays to a par of 72. The course has named among America’s Best New Courses by Golf Digest.
The Pack will begin play in the first-round of the tournament May 8 at 7:45 a.m.
