DAYTON, Ohio - NC State women's golfers Augusta James and Brittany Marchand advanced to the match play portion of the 113th Women's Western Golf Association's National Amateur Championship on Tuesday at Dayton Country Club.
James tied for fourth over two stroke play rounds on Monday and Tuesday at the par 71, 5,948-yard course.
James finished at 1-under 141, while Wolfpack teammate Brittany Marchand tied for seventh, one shot back at even-par 142.
The top 64 golfers after 36 holes of stroke play moved to the championship flight, and will compete in a match play format beginning Wednesday.
James, from Bath, Ontario, will take on Kiersten Klekner-Alt, a fellow Canadian from Ottawa, Ontario at 10 a.m.
Marchand, who hails from Orangeville, Ontario, will face off against Erin Selfridge of Fleming Island, Fla., at 9:45 a.m.
