RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. - Augusta James and former NC State players Ana Menendez and Brooke Baker will be competing in the LPGA and Symetra Tour Qualifying School this week. The 72-hole tournament runs Aug. 26-29 at Mission Hills Country Club in California.

James is a three-time All-ACC player who won the Canadian Women's Amateur earlier this summer and Menendez completed her four years at NC State this spring. The two players are among 285 in the field playing in the qualifying school. Baker played two seasons for NCSU after transferring from Tulsa and led the team in scoring average during the 2010-11 season.

The top 60 finishers (including ties) advance to LPGA and Symetra Qualifying School Stage II, held Sept. 30-Oct.3 in Venice, Fla. Players who play all 72 holes in Stage I receive Symetra Tour status for 2015.
