After two strong tournament showings this fall, the NC State women's golf team has climbed to 14th in the Golf World/WGCA Women's Golf Coaches Poll. The Wolfpack was 20th in the preseason poll.

Head coach Page Marsh's squad has soared in the national rankings thanks to her team's performances at the Cougar Classic on Sept. 8-10 and the Mason Rudolph Invitational on Sept. 20-22.

The Wolfpack placed fourth among 20 teams at the season-opening Cougar Classic, hosted by College of Charleston. Senior Brittany Marchand tied for second in that tournament, shooting 212 over 54 holes. Two weeks later, NC State competed at Vanderbilt's Mason Rudolph event, a tournament that featured 11 ranked teams among its 15 teams. The Wolfpack finished among the elite in that event, placing fifth. Junior Augusta James placed third at the Mason Rudolph.

In addition to NC State standing 14th, there are currently four other ACC teams in the ranked among the nation's top 16. Duke is ranked fourth, Clemson 11th, North Carolina 15th and Virginia 16th. Wake Forest and Notre Dame are among those also receiving votes in the poll.

NC State has two tournaments remaining this fall. The Wolfpack will be at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational, hosted by North Carolina on Oct. 11-13. The fall season concludes at the Landfall Tradition, hosted by UNC Wilmington on Oct. 25-27.
