James' Canadian Squad Third At World Am. Team Championships After Day One

ANTALYA, TURKEY - Augusta James fired an opening round 2-over par, 74 at the World Amateur Team Championship to help Team Canada close the first day of action tied for third at 1-under, 71. The tournament is being held at the par-72, 6,195-yard Gloria Golf Club in Antalya, Turkey. The Wolfpack sophomore had a tough front nine with bogeys on the first and ninth holes in addition to an eight on the par four fifth. At the turn, James was five-over. She is tied for 41st in the individual standings. James played the back nine at 3-under, carding birdies on the 10th, 15th and closing hole. James’ teammates, Jennifer Kirby from Alabama and high school player Brooke Henderson, shot rounds of even par and 1-under par, respectively, to help the Canadian effort. The four-day tournament continues on Friday with James teeing off at 7:40 a.m., local time.
