Women's Golf Ranked No. 17 In Golf World/WGCA Coaches' Poll

RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State women's golf team is ranked 17th in the latest WGCA coaches' poll, released today by Golf World. The Wolfpack, which was ranked No. 25 in the preseason poll, finished seventh in the Cougar Classic its first competition of the fall season. NC State shot 6-over par, 871 for the tournament, while sophomore Augusta James was the Wolfpack's top individualist after shooting even par, 216. Among the teams NC State faced at the Cougar Classic that are in the newest poll are top-ranked Duke, No. 2 Florida, No. 4 USC, No. 6 Alabama, No. 7 Vanderbilt, No. 8 Auburn, No. 11. No. 14 Georgia, No. 18 Tennessee and No. 22 North Carolina. NC State returns to action next week (Oct. 12-14) at the Ruth Chris' Tar Heel Invitational at the Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill.
