    RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State gymnastics team recorded a season-best score of 195.200 to defeat the West Virginia Mountaineers (195.150) on Friday night at Reynolds Coliseum. The Pack trailed the Mountaineers 146.275-146.300 heading into the final rotation of the evening, but posted a 48.925 on floor to seal the victory.   

    State opened the meet on vault, posting a team score of 48.900. Junior Diahanna Ham led the group with a 9.850 to claim second in the event. Senior Morgan Johnson tallied the next highest score for the Pack with a 9.8, tying for third place. Stephanie Ouellette scored a 9.775, while freshmen Michaela Woodford and Brittni Watkins recorded a 9.750 and 9.725, respectively. 

    Senior Rachel Fincham along with Ouellette paced the group on bars with 9.775s, tying for first place. Watkins posted a 9.750, while Junior Kristen Harabedian notched a 9.725. Ham rounded out the scoring for the Pack with a 9.675. The group finished with a team score of 48.700 on bars, the highest score by the Pack in the event on the season.

    At the midway point in the meet, NC State led West Virginia 97.600 - 97.425. 

    The Wolfpack scored a 48.675 on beam, highlighted by Ham's 9.775, which was good for third. Fincham and Woodford were rewarded for their routines with 9.75s, while Fallanca and Ouellette each posted 9.7s.  

    Watkins led the way on floor with her score of 9.850 to claim first place. The Albany, N.Y, native has now finished first on floor in the last two meets. Ham tied for third with a 9.825, while sophomore Lane Jarred ended closely behind with a 9.8. Harabedian also competed in the event, recording a 9.725 matching Ouellette's score. The gymnasts on floor combined for a team score of 48.925. 

    In the all-around, Ham claimed first with a score of 39.125, while Ouellette finished third (38.975). 

    NC State will return to action Feb. 2, when it travels to Denver, Colo., for a tri-meet with Denver, Air Force and San Jose State. The meet is slated to begin at 8 p.m. ET.
