RALEIGH, N.C.-- Rachel Fincham, Diahanna Ham, Stephanie Ouellette, and Jess Panza all scored 9.9s to lead NC State to a win on Friday. The Wolfpack finished the night with a team score of 196.675, which is tied for the sixth highest score in school history.
NC State recorded a team score of 49.225 on bars, which was good for a new season-high. The Pack also scored a 49 or better in every event at the meet, which is the first time this season State has accomplished the feat.
Sophomore Stephanie Ouellette headlined the group of 9.9s as she recorded new career-highs on bars, beam, and all-around. Ouellette claimed first place on bars and all-around, while finishing second on floor. The Wolfpack gymnast scored a 9.9 on bars, 9.825 on floor, and 39.325 in the all-around. Ouellette also competed on beam posting a score of 9.825 and vault with a 9.775.
The Wolfpack turned in a stellar performance on vault registering a total team score of 49.175, as all Pack gymnasts recorded a 9.7 or higher. The score of 49.175 ties for the ninth highest score on vault in school history.
Sophomore Diahanna Ham turned in another phenomenal performance on vault with a 9.925 to claim first in the event. In addition, Ham's score of 9.925 was also a meet-high in all events. This is the second time this season that Ham has scored a 9.9 on vault, with her last 9.9 on vault coming at the Sweetheart Invitational. Junior Alex Williams recorded a new career-high with a 9.875 to claim third place, while sophomore Hannah Fallanca also scored a career-high 9.825.
On bars, the Wolfpack recorded a new season-high with a total team score of 49.225. Junior Rachel Fincham and sophomore Stephanie Ouellette both recorded 9.9s to lead the Pack on bars and tie for first place. The score of 9.9 for Ouellette was a new career-high, while the score tied a career-high for Fincham. Jess Panza scored a 9.825 which was good for second, while Kristen Harabedian and Alex Williams scored 9.8s to highlight State's performance on bars.
NC State also recorded a total team score of 49.250 on beam, which ties for the 10th highest score on beam in school history. The Pack swept the awards on beam, collecting first place while having two gymnasts tie for second.
Senior Jess Panza paced the Wolfpack on beam with a score of 9.9 to collect first place and also tie her season-high. Freshman Lane Jarred followed up a great performance on beam in the last meet recording a 9.875, which tied for second along with Junior Rachel Fincham. Stephanie Ouellette set her second career-high of the meet with a 9.825 on beam.
State was led on floor by Rachel Fincham, Diahanna Ham, and Stephanie Ouellette who all posted a 9.825 to tie for second in the event. It was the first time this season that Fincham has competed for the Wolfpack on floor.
For the first time this season, senior Jess Panza also competed in every event along with Ouellette. Panza took first place honors on beam with a 9.9, second on bars with a 9.825, and also posted scores of 9.775 and 9.7 on floor and vault, respectively.
NC State will return to action on Friday March 2, as the Wolfpack will travel to LSU. The meet is slated to begin at 7 p.m.
