PITTSBURGH, Pa.-- No. 20 North Carolina State finished second at the 2012 East Atlantic Gymnastics League Championship on Saturday, registering a total team score of 196.000.
The Wolfpack received a tough draw, starting the meet on the balance beam, which was the lowest scoring event for every team at the meet. That, combined with a few jitters, put the Pack in a tough situation. State scored a 48.600 on beam, 49.300 on floor, 49.000 on vault, and a 49.100 on bars.

The Wolfpack turned it into overdrive on floor, turning in a team score of 49.300, to tie its highest score of the season on floor, which come at the Sweetheart Invitational. All gymnasts that competed on floor scored a 9.850 or higher, the first time this season that the Wolfpack has accomplished the feat.
At the halfway point, NC State had a total team score of 97.900, good for third behind the University of North Carolina and West Virginia University.
State posted a team score of 49.000 on vault, which was the second event that the Wolfpack scored a team score of 49 or better. Senior Brooke Barr highlighted the Pack's performance on vault, recording a 9.850.
