    Raleigh, N.C. - The No. 22 NC State gymnastics team scored a 194.375 and finished sixth at the 2004 Southeast Regionals hosted by NC State Saturday night. No. 1 UCLA posted a team score of 197.325 and No. 13 Nebraska had a 196.375, as both schools advance to the NCAA Championships from the Raleigh hosted regional. No. 12 North Carolina just missed second place by 0.025 with their team score of 196.350. No. 21 West Virginia was fourth with a 195.275, and Maryland took fifth with a 194.575.

    After a bye, the Wolfpack started the meet out on floor and put together a team score of 48.900. Freshman Rachel Katz was NC State's top finisher with her score of 9.825 to finish in 14th place. Junior Cori Goldstein was close behind with her 9.8 for 18th place. Senior Marlyn Madey was 23rd with a 9.775. A trio of NC State gymnasts all scored a 9.75; sophomore Kylah Bachman, senior Alison Bundy, and senior Leah Sabo.

    Right after floor, NC State moved over to the vault and matched their team score with another 48.900, the highest team score of the night. Katz was once again NC State's top scorer with an impressive fourth place finish with a 9.9. Madey notched a 9.825 for a 14th place showing. Sabo scored a 9.75 and Bachman had a 9.725. Rounding out the scoring was senior Cheryl Potacco with her 9.7.

     

     

    After the final bye, NC State was up on bars, but had two falls and finished with a team score of 48.300. The senior duo of Madey and Sabo were NC State's top scorers, they both had a 9.8 and tied for sixth. Katz and junior Andrea Petrocelli tied for 21st with both scoring a 9.7. Bachman had a 9.3 for NC State's final score.

    The Wolfpack concluded the meet on beam and had their lowest team score of the night, a 48.275. Sabo led the way for the Wolfpack on beam, she was 12th with a 9.85. Freshman Amanda Jones notched a 9.725, while Goldstein had a 9.7. Rounding out the scoring was Bachman with a 9.65 and Petrocelli with her 9.35.

    Sabo tied for seventh in the all-around with a 39.150. Madey scored a 38.525 and Bachman had a 38.425 in the all-around.
