RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State gymnastics team is set to travel to Denver, Colo., for a tri-meet against the University of Denver and Southern Utah on Saturday, Feb. 8. The meet is slated to begin at 8 p.m., ET. inside Hamilton Gymnasium.
“This will be a good competition for us because both Denver and Southern Utah are very good teams year-in and year-out,” said head coach Mark Stevenson. “We’re excited about the level of competition and I feel like we’re headed in the right direction.”
State will open the meet on beam before moving to the floor exercise. In the second half of the meet, the Pack will compete on vault and conclude the evening on the uneven parallel bars.
In its most recent competition against Missouri, the Pack finished with a team score of 194.675. Sophomore Brittni Watkins continued her outstanding season, as she tied the 10th best mark in program history in the all-around with a career-best score of 39.425. With her individual performance, Watkins captured the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Gymnast of the Week award for the third time this season.
