Ouellette, Jarred Garner EAGL Weekly Honors

RALEIGH, N.C. – Senior Stephanie Ouellette of the NC State gymnastics team has been named the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Gymnast of the Week, while junior Lane Jarred garnered the EAGL Specialist of the Week.
Oullette is the second Wolfpack gymnast to be named Gymnast of the Week this season, and it’s the fourth time this year an NC State gymnast has garnered the award. Meanwhile, Jarred is the second gymnast on the squad to be named Specialist of the Week.
A native of Columbia, Md., Ouellette finished in first place in the all around with a 39.300 to help State record its season-best score of 196.050 in the annual Sweetheart Invitational. Ouellette recorded scores of 9.800 on vault, 9.825 on bars to place second behind sophomore teammate Brittni Watkins, 9.850 on beam to tie for first and 9.825 on floor to finish fourth. Currently, the senior ranks third in the league on bars and seventh in the all around.
Jarred, a product of Lawrenceville, N.J., posted a career-best mark of 9.775 on the uneven parallel bars, while finishing in a tie for first on the balance beam with a score of 9.850. In addition, the junior also finished on the podium on floor after notching a score of 9.850 to finish second. Jarred currently ranks in the top 10 of the conference on beam and floor.
The NC State gymnastics team will return to action when the squad travels to Pittsburgh, Pa., to take on the Pitt Panthers on Friday, Feb. 21. The meet is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., and can be seen on ESPN3.
