Seaman, Panza Earn EAGL Weekly Honors

RALEIGH, N.C. - Junior Taylor Seaman and freshman Jess Panza earned EAGL weekly honors on Monday after leading NC State past EAGL foe George Washington on Friday, March 13.

Seaman earned her third EAGL Gymnast of the Week honor of the 2009 season. She won the all-around (39.325), floor (9.9) and bars (9.850) and finished second on beam (9.85) and fourth on vault (9.750). Seaman is the only EAGL gymnast to rank in the top-8 in the conference in all four individual events and the all-around.

Seaman shared this week's honor with Maryland's Abbey Adams.

Panza competed in the all-around for the first time this season as she has now fully recovered from an early-season injury.
She won beam with a career-best 9.9 and ranks seventh in the conference on the event in EAGL. Panza was also second in the all-around with a 39.125 and second on both vault (9.825) and beam (9.775).

NC State will host the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Championships on March 21 at 3 pm and the NCAA Southeast Regionals on April 4 at 6 pm. Both events will be hosted in Historic Reynolds Coliseum.
