Wolfpack Hosts 2009 EAGL Championships
NC State will host the EAGL Championships on Saturday, March 21 at 3pm. It is the third time since the conference started in 1996 that the championships took place in Raleigh, N.C. The team finished fourth in 2005 and second in 1997 when hosting the championship.
Last year NC State finished second in Morgantown, W. Va., as the West Virginia squad won the title.
The Pack has won the EAGL Championship three times, tied with North Carolina for second-most. West Virginia has won six titles to lead the way. New Hampshire has one conference crown.

NC State has gone 11-4 against its last six meets after starting the season 1-6 in the first five meets. In addition, the team has averaged a 194.817 over the last six meets compared to a 192.700 in the first five.
Junior Taylor Seaman has been very successful in her career, earning five first or second-team All-EAGL honors in her career and ranking 15th nationally on the floor in 2008.
In 2009, Seaman is having her best season to date, as she has stepped into the top spot on the team and has recorded the top score on vault, floor and the all-around. She also has recorded the second-best bars and beam score.
Seaman has scored at least a 39.275 in the all-around in five meets, with all five scores ranking among the top-12 scores all-time.
Seaman is a three-time EAGL Gymnast of the Week this season, giving her her four for her career. The three awards in 2009 are second-most in the league. She was also a four-time EAGL Rookie of the Week selection in 2007.
Freshman Brooke Barr is one of three freshmen that have competed in each meet in 2009, and she is arguably the top freshman in the conference.
Barr has been named EAGL Rookie of the Week a league-leading five times in 10 weeks this season, and leads EAGL and the team in NCAA Regional Qualifying Score (RQS) on vault. She also ranks second on the team on floor and is eighth in the conference in the event.
Barr has also posted the second highest score on vault (9.900) and floor (9.875) and is third on beam (9.800).
The only coach NC State has ever had, Mark Stevenson is in his 29th year at the helm of the Wolfpack Gymnastics squad. Stevenson has racked up a record of 435-242-1 and has been named NCAA Regional Coach of the Year and EAGL Coach of the Year four times each.
