    DURHAM, N.H. - NC State senior gymnast Rachel Fincham has been named the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Specialist of the Week, while freshman Brittni Watkins garnered EAGL Rookie of the Week honors, announced by the conference office Tuesday. 

    Fincham was rewarded for her performance over the weekend with her first EAGL Specialist of the Week award on the season after receiving the award twice as a junior and once as a sophomore. 

    The senior from Gambrills, Md., tied for first on beam against LSU Friday with a score of 9.850 and finished fourth on bars with a 9.8. Against Georgia, Fincham tied her career-high with a 9.9 on bars to claim second place and also competed on beam, scoring a 9.7.

    Watkins received EAGL Rookie of the Week honors for the second time this season after claiming the honor, Jan. 22, after the meet against New Hampshire. 

    The Albany, N.Y., native posted a career-best 9.9 on vault against LSU, before recording a 9.8 on bars (fourth) and a 9.850 on floor exercise (third). Against Georgia, Watkins notched a 9.850 on vault, a career-best 9.825 on bars and a 9.750 on floor exercise.  

    NC State will return to action at the 2013 EAGL Championships, held Mar. 23 in Chapel Hill, N.C., at 2 p.m. in Carmichael Arena.
