RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State women's soccer will play 12 home games during the 2013 season, new head coach Tim Santoro announced on Thursday.
The Wolfpack will open the regular season with a road game at Navy on August 23 at 7 p.m. The club will return home two days later for Santoro's first home game when his team hosts Longwood on Sunday at Dail Soccer Field.
"Every ACC team has a tough schedule because how strong the league is,” said Santoro. “Adding Georgetown late was a great addition for us as well.
“But at this point, we're more about our preparation and what we do more then who we're playing."
The match against the Lancers kicks off a six-game home stand that features non-conference foes Georgia Southern, East Tennessee State, Georgetown and UNC Wilmington, and culminates with the Pack's ACC opener against Notre Dame on September 12 at 7 p.m. - the first meeting between the two schools since 1993.
NC State will also host league members Boston College, Clemson, Syracuse, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.
Meanwhile, the Pack will play road games at both Duke and North Carolina, along with Florida State, Miami and Pittsburgh.
NC State will play eight teams ranked among the top-20 schools in the final 2012 national poll. Seven of those alone come from the ACC with Georgetown being the other ranked club.
The Pack will travel to UNC Greensboro for an exhibition tilt on August 17 at 5 p.m.
