Griswold Named Regional Academic All-American

RALEIGH, N.C. - Senior women's soccer player, Erin Griswold was named to the 2004 NSCAA/adidas Women's South Region Scholar Athlete All-America third team. The Garden Grove, Calif. native owns a cumulative GPA of 3.458 at NC State and is majoring in psychology. She is one of only six players representing the Atlantic Coast Conference to earn the honor.
The selection criteria is based on both academic and athletic accomplishments. Academically, the student-athletes must have at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA throughout her career. Athletically, they must start more than 50 percent of the matches and be a significant contributor.
As a senior, Griswold led NC State in points, 21, goals, 8, and game winning goals, 3, after starting 17 of 18 matches played. She also had five assists. In her career she led NC State the last two years in goals and points. Academically, Griswold is a two-time member of the ACC Honor Roll and Dean's List.
