Courtney Oliver enters her third season as an assistant coach on NC State head coach Shawn Rychcik's staff. She serves as the team's pitching coach and also works with the infielders.

Under Oliver's guidance, the 2014 pitching staff compiled the third-best earned run average in the ACC at 3.05. NC State pitchers struck out 334 batters on the season, the fourth most in the league. Wolfpack hurlers also struck out 87 batters looking, the second highest total among conference opponents.

Pitcher Emily Weiman has flourished under her leadership, earning First Team All-ACC honors in 2014 and 2013. Weiman broke the school record for most complete game shutouts in a single season with 12 during the 2014 season. That total was also the most in the ACC and sixth best in the NCAA.

Oliver also works with the NC State infielders and the squad turned 19 double plays during the season, the second most in the conference.

In just her first season with the team, she guided the NC State pitching staff to higher heights. Weiman was named the conference's Pitcher of the Year, becoming the first player in the history of the program to receive the honor.

Oliver coached her conference's Pitcher of the Year in four consecutive seasons, culminating with Weiman's selection in 2013. Under her direction, Weiman broke school records in wins (33), appearances (54), starts (52), complete games (42) and innings pitched (323.1).

Her coaching insight helped Weiman lead the conference in wins during the 2013 season with 33.

An accomplished pitcher/designated player from 2004-08 at Hofstra, Oliver spent the two seasons as the pitching coach at her alma mater, helping the Pride win the Colonial Athletic Association championship and the NCAA Los Angeles Regional championship in 2012.

Prior to her time at Hofstra, she spent one season on coach Rychcik's staff at Boston University. She also spent one season at Monmouth in 2009.

As a pitcher/designated player, Oliver was a clutch hitter and pitcher for Hofstra as it completed its NCAA-record run of 11 consecutive conference championships. Oliver and her classmates won four consecutive CAA championships and advanced to two NCAA regional finals, to becoming the winningest class in school history.

Oliver was a two-time first-team All-CAA player and a two-time All-CAA Tournament selection. As a senior, she had the most RBIs (27) in conference games and led the league in earned run average, posting a 0.24 mark with a 5-0 record in CAA games. Overall, she had 40 RBIs with a 10-3 mark and 1.12 ERA in her final collegiate season.

She ranks in the school's top 10 in RBIs (117) and career strikeouts (258). Included in her 32 career wins as a pitcher are two no-hitters.

A native of Swansea, Mass., Oliver earned both her bachelor's degree in business administration and master's degree in communication from Hofstra.
