    Pack Softball Sets Record-Smashing Standard

    Under first-year head coach Shawn Rychcik, the Wolfpack won the school's second ACC title, advanced to an NCAA Regional title game for the first time in school history and broke nearly 40 team and individual school records.

    As a Sophomore (2005): One of the top hitters in the ACC ... Second team All-ACC selection ... Eighth in hits and doubles per game in the conference ... Led the team in batting average, hits, doubles and games played in 2005 ... Wolfpack career leader in doubles and hits, she had a school record 66 hits in 2005, and is the only player with 60+ hits in multiple seasons (she had 62 in 2004) ... Only player in school history to have 10+ doubles in a season, she has done it each of her first two seasons, including 11 in 2005 and 13 in 2004 ... Her career average of .312 is second in school history ... Ninth in the ACC in total bases, averaging 1.39 per game in 2005 ... Hit the first grand slam in school history with a blast against Mississippi Valley State ... School record five hits and set a school record with five RBIs in that game, going 5-for-5 with five RBIs and the grand slam, the single greatest offensive performance in Wolfpack history ... Led off the final game in the North Carolina series with a home run as NC State won 1-0 to clinch fourth in the ACC and win the series against the Tar Heels ...     As a Freshman (2004): The leadoff hitter for NC?State's inaugural game on 2/13/04 against Radford, collecting the first hit in school history with a third-inning single ... Started all of her 57 appearances, playing solid defense at second and third ... She ranked fourth in the ACC in hits (62) and was fifth in the ACC for doubles (13) ... Led the team in hits (62), batting average (.315), at-bats (197) and doubles (13) ... Second on the team in total bases (81) ... Team-best 19 multiple-hit games ... Notched the first double and scored the first run in program history in the Mercer game on 2/14/04, the first win in program history ... Had a 10-game hitting streak, tied for first on the team ... An ACC Honor Roll selection.
