    Pack Comes Out Swinging, Wins Rain-Interrupted Game over JMU, 6-4

    Freshman Hanna Sommer hit a solo home run in the fifth and Kirsty Grant and Renada Davis had back-to-back doubles in the seventh to give sophomore pitcher Emily Weiman her 33rd win of the season. The Pack will now play No. 5 Tennessee in the first of two possible games Sunday afternoon for the NCAA Knoxville Regional championship.

    Pack Softball Loses 1-0 Heartbreaker in 12 Innings to No. 5 Tennessee

    Sophomore pitcher Emily Weiman goes the distance in the longest postseason game in both NC State and Tennessee history. An 11th-inning, run-scoring triple ended the classic pitcher's duel between Weiman and Tennessee's Ellen Renfroe. The Pack played a second game later Saturday night.

    Among the many records broken in a three-game sweep over Boston College were the ACC records for home runs in a game (8) and most total bases in a game (45).

    Softball Completes Sweep of BC With 4 More HRs; Weiman Sets Win Mark

    NC State softball has won nine straight games and has moved into second place in the ACC standings. Sophomore Renada Davis has moved into a tie for the NCAA lead with her 24th homer of the season and her first career grand slam. Sophomore pitcher Emily Weiman picked up her 28th win of the season, breaking Abbie Sims' single-season record of 27 from 2007.

    Softball Bangs Out School-Record 8 HRs in 16-2 Win; Blasts 15 in DH

    Junior Scout Albertson hit two more, including a grand slam, in the second game against Boston College to go with her two earlier in the day and sophomore Renada Davis and junior Leah Jones both added two more as well as the Wolfpack won for the 15th time in 17 games. The teams meet Sunday at 1 p.m. in the Pack's final game of the regular season.

    As a sophomore (2012)

    • Started 40 games at first base for the Wolfpack and played in 45 contests overall.
    • Hit a solid .250 in 112 at-bats, with a .330 slugging percentage.
    • Had three doubles, two home runs and 11 RBIs.
    • Led the team with 275 put-outs and was third with a fielding percentage of .983.
    • Ninth in ACC in total chances and putouts.

    As a freshman (2011)

    • Made eight pinch-hit appearances as a freshman in 2011.
    • Notched one RBI.

    • Lettered in golf, basketball and softball at Cape Fear High School.
    • Named first team all-Mid-South Conference three times.
