NC State softball has won nine straight games and has moved into second place in the ACC standings. Sophomore Renada Davis has moved into a tie for the NCAA lead with her 24th homer of the season and her first career grand slam. Sophomore pitcher Emily Weiman picked up her 28th win of the season, breaking Abbie Sims' single-season record of 27 from 2007.
Junior Scout Albertson hit two more, including a grand slam, in the second game against Boston College to go with her two earlier in the day and sophomore Renada Davis and junior Leah Jones both added two more as well as the Wolfpack won for the 15th time in 17 games. The teams meet Sunday at 1 p.m. in the Pack's final game of the regular season.
Junior first baseman Leah Jones drives in a career-high five runs with a three-run homer and a two-run single and sophomore shortstop Renada Davis extends her school-record and ACC-leading home run total to 21.
