NC State softball head coach Shawn Rychcik announced on Dec. 20 that Tyler Profitt has been promoted to volunteer assistant coach. Profitt served as a team manager during the 2013 season and will now remain with the team for the upcoming 2014 campaign as a member of the coaching staff.
"We're excited to have Tyler stay around after graduating in December," said Rychcik. "His work ethic and commitment to the team make him a valuable asset to our program."
A native of Greensboro, N.C., Profitt graduated from NC State on Wednesday with a degree in sport management. In his role as volunteer assistant coach, he will be responsible for video analysis and film editing, helping with set-up and breakdown of practice and assisting in preparing scouting reports for game days.
