COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS - NC State (3-2) fell to UTSA (4-5) in College Station, Texas this afternoon by a score of 2-1 at the Aggie Classic.

Morgan Peeler threw the majority of the game for State, surrendering one earned run off of five hits in the contest.

Scout Albertson knocked her second home run of the 2012 season in the sixth inning, and Caitlin Dent went 2-for-3 to lead the Pack offensively.

Jade Hennig got the start in the circle for the Pack. She walked four-straight batters and was replaced by Peeler, who retired the next three batters of the inning. After one frame of play, UTSA held a 1-0 lead over the Pack.

Dent notched NC State's first hit of the game in the third inning and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Katie Mansilla. The Pack was unable to push the run across, though, and after three innings, the score remained 1-0 in UTSA's favor.

In the bottom of the third, the Roadrunners' first two batters reached on a base hit, but Peeler was able to retire the lineup and preserve the 1-0 score.

The Wolfpack defense continued to hold UTSA, and after five innings of play, the score was 1-0 in favor of the Roadrunners.

Scout Albertson led off the sixth inning with a home run, her second of the season, to bring the Pack even with UTSA at 1-1.

With one out in the sixth, UTSA's Geena Garcia knocked a home run to left center to give UTSA a 2-1 lead. Peeler battled back, however, fanning Ashley Kappler for her first strikeout of the game. After six frames, UTSA held a 2-1 lead.

Bethaney Wells grounded out for the first out of the seventh inning, and Leah Jones followed with a base hit. Sara Lippard came in the game to pinch hit, and notched a single, the first of her NC State career, to put runners at first and second with one out. Caitlin Dent then singled up the middle, but Kelsey Hoover, who was pinch running for Jones, was thrown out at the plate on a close call. Katie Mansilla grounded out to end the game, and the Pack fell by a 2-1 score to UTSA.

NC State takes the field again at about 4:45 ET against host No. 15 Texas A&M.
