Campana Named ACC Co-Pitcher of the Week
RALEIGH, N.C. NC State hurler Lindsay Campana was named ACC Co-Pitcher of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday, April 27. The honor marks the second time during Campana’s stint in Raleigh that she has received the recognition, first time this season.
“I’m excited and honored to be named ACC Co-Pitcher of the week,” said Campana. “It was important for our team to pick up some wins this past weekend, and I’m confident that these victories will give us some momentum as we head into the ACC Championships.”
Campana became the first ACC pitcher this season to toss a no-hitter in a conference game on Saturday, April 25, blanking Boston College on the road in Chestnut Hill, Mass. She fanned 12 and allowed just three walks en route to the first no-hitter of her career, 12th in the six-year history of the Wolfpack program.
Hours later she earned her second victory of the day, tossing 6.2 innings of relief as the Pack secured a 8-7 decision over the Eagles in nine innings.
In all the junior from Templeton, Calif. tossed 13.2 innings, giving up seven hits, five walks and two earned runs while recording 14 K’s against 55 batters faced.
“Lindsay had a great weekend and we are very proud of her for being recognized,” said head coach Lisa Navas.
Campana shares the weekly accolade with Georgia Tech’s Kristen Adkins.
