RALEIGH, N.C. - Wolfpack softball is set to kick off the postseason tomorrow at the 2012 ACC Softball Championships in Chapel Hill, N.C. Seventh seeded State will take on the two seed, Florida State Seminoles at 2:30 p.m. at Anderson Stadium.
NC State looks to avenge its three losses suffered at the hands of the Seminoles from earlier this season. Last weekend, FSU dropped two of three contests to Maryland, falling from the top ACC seed to a close second. The Pack, however, enjoyed its league bye weekend.
Renada Davis led the Wolfpack offensively in the regular season, setting a new single-season record for batting average (.365) and on-base percentage (.455). Bethaney Wells paced the Pack in the power department by smashing 11 home runs and 37 RBI during the regular season, totals that sit near the top among all league hitters.
Morgan Peeler and Emily Weiman have split duties in the circle for the Wolfpack in 2012. Weiman sits among the top 50 nationally in strikeouts, and has fanned the third-highest number of batters for a freshman in NC State history. Peeler, a Salisbury, N.C. native, has posted career highs in strikeouts and innings pitched in her last season for the Pack.
Thursday's game, and all of the Pack's games in the ACC Tournament will be broadcast on RSN and ESPN3 at 2:30. Please see below for links for all Gametracker and live video feeds available from Chapel Hill.
