Mait DuBois joined the women's tennis program at NC State in August of 2004 as the assistant coach. DuBois comes to the Wolfpack family after a one year stint as the assistant coach for the women's tennis program at the University of Virginia, helping lead the Cavaliers to a top-30 national ranking. Prior to that, DuBois served as a coach for both the men and women's tennis teams at Charleston Southern. In the summer of 2001, DuBois coached a group of American juniors, traveling Europe and competing in ITA events. Before joining the collegiate coaching ranks, DuBois worked as a director at the High Performance Junior Tennis Academy in Charleston, S.C. At Charleston Southern, DuBois helped steer the Buccaneer's toward success. While serving as an assistant coach, the Bucs reached the NCAA tournament in three consecutive years between 1999 and 2001. Under his leadership as head coach, the men's team earned a 35-11 record, reaching the NCAA tournament in 2002. In 2003, DuBois coached current Wolfpacker Barbara Orlay, a transfer from Charleston Southern, en route to her collecting Freshman of the Year and Player of the Year honors from the Big South Conference. DuBois lettered four years for the Charleston Southern men's tennis program between 1992-96. During his last two seasons with the Bucs he served as team captain, leading them to the Big South title in 1996, collecting team MVP honors. DuBois holds two degrees from Charleston Southern, earning his degree in Business Administration and Economics in 1996 and his Masters of Business Administration in 1999. "Player development is really a passion for both Coach Olsen and myself," DuBois said. "Both of us truly enjoy helping players reach their full potential. We have worked very hard to build a program that provides everything a high-performing student-athlete needs to reach the professional level. We are 100% committed to providing every student-athlete in our program with a full collegiate experience, as well as a world-class education in a family like atmosphere." | |||||||||
